Title: Move out of a residential college
Post by: ashleylalala on March 24, 2015, 01:41:34 pm
I currently just started living in a residential college early this year (although I am already halfway through my first year). I might want to move out mid year, because i might want to live with my friend. Is it possible to live in a residential college for just 1 semester? If it is, what are the costs? I know that I might lose my deposit money, but i'm trying to avoid that. Please give me some tips!
Thanks!

Is it possible to sublet it to someone else? I know someone in my building (The UniLodge) sublet his apartment over the Summer Holidays by advertising it on Gumtree, but the Melbourne Uni Residential Colleges might be much more strict on that kind of stuff.

There is generally a notice period you need to give, otherwise they will charge you some amount. Would recommend asking them when you need to tell them for no fees to be charged. Depends on the college.

Alright, I know that I can pay for 1st and 2nd semester separately though
