Title: SAC moderation/ranking
Post by: Splash-Tackle-Flail on March 28, 2015, 02:39:00 pm
So for our first SAC (was only a single period test), the SAC was really easy for the whole class, and subsequently everyone in the class of eight scored a mid-high A+ bar two people. Right now I am currently equal rank one, but am worried that since all our scores are basically equal (i.e. 6 people within two marks of each other), our SAC marks will be moderated down, or changed by VCAA. I also heard that when such a high percentage of a cohort has similar marks at the top end (e.g. lots of 95%s) they use the GAT to separate students and rank them appropriately. Is this something I should be worried about?

Thanks :)

Only the ranking itself matters, the scores are just there to give VCAA an indication but they won't be used to adjust your study score :)
