Hey everyone,
I'm currently in year 11 was just wondering if you need unit 1 Psych for unit 2, and if so what would I need to learn over the June/July holidays? Thinking of switching to Psych from Bio next semester.
Thank you!!

It has been four years, so somebody please correct me if I am misguided in my response, but:
No. From memory, you look at quite different subjects in Unit 1 and Unit 2. I think you would be more than fine and at no real disadvantage. :)

You should look up/read about Research Methods if you want.
Research Methods isn't anything too hard, just kinda how to write a 'report' :)
but yeah, like Joseph41 said, you do look at different topics in both units and you won't be disadvantaged in any way but chances are you might need to write a report of some sort so yeah.

I think it'd be worth just briefly going over the traditional and contemporary theories/perspectives of Psychology - just so you've got a bit of an idea about the foundations, but it isn't anything too complex or time consuming. And as Strawberries said, I'd go over research methods - although you may go over this again anyway in Unit 2 (as what is covered in Unit 1 is elaborated on). That being said - a fair bit of it should be familiar from Bio anyway.
Good luck :)
