Hey guys,
Hypothetically if i am ranked second in business and the guy that is ranked first stuffs up on the exam and i go well, is there a possibility that i can beat him?
-
As in study score, yes definitely.
But the guy ranked first will receive a higher moderated SAC score.

'higher moderated SAC score'
what does this mean?
-
The marks you receive in SAC's has only one purpose, the ranking of people in your school. Then based on your schools exam results they(VCAA/VTAC forget which one) will moderate your SAC scores, to ensure fairness while letting schools organise their own SACs. Moderation basically involves taking the exam score corresponding to an individuals SAC ranking, this then becomes their moderated SAC score.
Example:
The person ranked first in SACs will receive the highest exam score as their moderated SAC score.
So if you are ranked higher than someone in SACs, your moderated SAC mark should be higher than theirs.

say my friend, is ranked # 1 in sacs, im ranked like 7th.
if i do better then him in the exam by say 3 marks , will i be able to get a better study score and my sac mark standarised to his mark? sorry im just confused lol.

He'll get higher I think.
If something as small as 3 marks puts you from an average rank to the top, there would be no point to sacs imo.

i must sound stupid but i seriously dont get this...
if im ranked first, with and average of A+ in sacs, but in the exam i get a B+
and someone else in my class who averages a B+ for sacs, in the exam they get an A+
do i get their A+ mark?

^^^
lol me neither

3 marks is pretty big if it seperates you from a A & a A+

happened to me in legal. girl above me was dominating 100% every sac. I got 99% but regardless, she was top. Exam time came i got 49 she got 43
u must have killed that exam 60/60 lol

noice !

I'm ranked 3rd in my school with an average of 93... is it still possible to get high 40s to 50?

I don't think 50. My teacher has told me though that I can still get 45 or above as long as I nail the exam. Btw, I'm second in my cohort having lost 7 marks in Unit 3 and 0 in Unit 4. I'm pretty sure you could still get above 45 if you only lose 3 - 4 marks in the exam.
-
Don't be discouraged about SAC marks, it is your exam marks that influence your SACs.
50 is possible as long as you smash the exam!
:)
-
ive dropped four marks the entire year for sacs and im ranked first, just gona hope i can smash the exam which i feel pretty confident about, lost 1 mark on freakin trial exam for mentioning 3 management skills instead of 2 is that bs or wat? >:(

I think that's an absolute joke and don't think that would happen on the end of year exam (and would be shocked if it did). How can you penalise someone for showing off their knowledge?
-
Shouldnt happen, the only reason why you can get penalised is if you had 3 but one was wrong.
-
^^^
yeah but all 3 of mine were correct
-
if the quesstion asked aout 2 skills then yeah you would lose your mark. dw bout it. you pretty much got 100%
still 59/60 is extremely good!
