Course selection is coming up for year 12, and I kinda want to drop History and pick up Global Politics instead. I'm concerned that I will just be way too behind in the class to do well. Has anyone else picked up Global Politics 3/4, or any other subject for that matter?
Help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,

picked up bio 3/4 w/o any bio knowledge since like year 7 and im managing okay. some sections overlap and you must learn these ahead of time; others are completely new to you and your class, so its easier to learn. overall, some 3/4s are hard to pick up w/o 1/2s, others are easier. IMO, global politics is doable with just 3/4, just make sure your definitions/basic concepts are covered before you start the course (probs in the holidays learn ahead slightly/catch up on basics)
definitely possible and im pretty sure theres tons of students who get 50s w/o doing the 1/2 counterpart :) gl

I am 99.99% sure that you can complete Global Politics (and excel in the subject), without having doing units 1/2 (which is actually a combination of both Australian and Global Politics as one subject). As there isn't actually a specifically designed "Global Politics" (or "Australian Politics") subject for units 1/2.
In fact, I believe there are a fair few schools who offer Australian Politics and Global Politics, without offering the units 1/2 politics subject. For example, the Distance Education Centre of Victoria (DECV) offers both 3/4 Australian Politics and 3/4 Global Politics, without offering the 1/2 Politics subject.
So I definitely believe you should be fine :)
Best of luck!
