Title: Hertz's experiment!
Post by: nickglyn on October 24, 2016, 04:42:12 pm
Hey. So I came across this question in the 2015 physics paper on hertz's experiment. It's a hefty 6 marker so I don't know what i'd have to do exactly to assure those 6 marks could be obtained. When I attended Jake's UTS physics lecture, he mentioned the importance of "buzz words" when answering these types of questions. What buzz words would be required for this question?

I'd say these words/phrases are important when talking about Hertz's experiment: radio waves, emitter/receiver, sparks (how the waves were detected), reflection, refraction, polarisation, interference, wavelength/velocity/frequency and that radio waves were the same as light in terms of nature.  Basically all the key aspects of his experiment.

If this was on my paper then I probably have an answer for it. When I get home I'll type up my response and what mark I got for it. (This post will be deleted and replaced when that time comes.)
