I think it's possible 8)

Okay, yeah I'm one of those kids but hear me out. I'm a very motivated student. Mean nothing? I don't blame you. But I've gone full circle and now instead of dreaming about a BA every night, I've come to the decision to do medicine and that...requires me to do Chemistry. I've completed in year 10, Unit 1 Chemistry with flying colours. I got 96% for my semester exam, but because I couldn't settle on what course I wanted to do, I switched Chemistry for Biology and went on this year with Biology. Since I only had three 1/2's this year because I was doing two 3/4s, I elected to do Chemistry in 2017, and now I'm kind of a little bit scared with the outlook of Chemistry. :-[
I'm a strong mathematics and english lit student, so my other subjects should be fine. I went through the 3/4 course this year for methods and specialist, (not formally vcaa assessed), and did well relatively well on the 2016 exams. My Lit exam was good, which I guess is also a fair indicator for next year.
What do I need to know before I go into Chemistry 3/4 for 2017? I'm signing up for the tutoring services that's going on with atarnotes, but I want to know in advance before jumping straight in. Thanks in advance! :)
offtopic a bit: why did you do the 2016 exams you should've saved them especially since they are the only official ones from the current study design :P
Motivation at the start is great but with any student it will waver throughout the year depending on all sorts of scenarios. I believe that in VCE you can succeed to an extent from any sort of level of knowledge if you are willing to be dedicated to your subject throughout the year.
I made a post a few days ago which was to someone in an similar scenario:
Be thorough in all mole calculations sometimes on the exam it even comes up as a year 11 standard question. Have a general idea of basic organic chemistry, maybe going through the year 12 content will suffice since it's pretty basic. Go through any sort of chemical reaction such as acid base and redox.
Things that may be asummed however may be revisited by teachers for the New study design given teachers teach everything in the study design in yr 11 :P:
1.Chemical Equations
2.Chemical calculations (mole stuff + specific heat capacity) + Different Units for concentration
3.Basic Organic chem
4.Bonding (ionic.covalent,hydrogen bonding)
5.HPLC,Mass spectrometry, calibration curves
I would probably learn the first 2 at the very least. :)
I have skimmed the new study design so this may not be the exact stuff but will be extremely close. I think more of Unit 1 chemistry is relevant to units 3/4 of the new SD so some of the above may be quite familiar to you.

Judging by how well you did I think you'll do just fine for 3/4! The only major thing from unit 2 would be titrations, acid-base and properties of water, which might be worth reading up on. However, you'll probably cover them again in 3/4

The most important thing to know is that you'll be just fine, relax :)
Beyond that, the others have given you some great practical tips...so good luck with med!
