Hi guys and gals! As an aspiring med student in the future, I've been looking at the entry requirements for Melbourne's MD Program which requires you to undertake physiology, anatomy and biochemistry subjects at 2nd year level. As currently I am studying a Bachelor of arts/sci in Monash University, which enables me to undertake the prerequisites required. I am aware that studying at another uni requires me to check if my units are approved for Melbs MD. Coming across the gemsas prerequisite checker for Melbs (https://applygemsas.com.au/prereqchecker.jsf),
I noticed that some of the approved sequences for Monash sometimes contains only one unit, like PHY3011, or have a sequence, like PHY2011 and PHY2032 and PHY2042.
My question is, how many approved 2nd year level units of study do I need to take to be considered eligible for Melbs MD; is it just one of the approved from those listed in the prerequisite checker from GEMSAS, or do I need to complete more than one unit and complete multiple units in sequences, or both?
Thank you!

If it has a sequence, it probably expects you to take that sequence of subjects in order to satisfy the prerequisite. I'm sure that if you contacted Melbourne Medical School they would clarify for you though.
EDIT: I've had a look at the prereq checker. As I said, the sequences are groups of subjects that taken together satisfy the prereq. Single subjects can also do that (e.g. PHY3011 and the combo of 2011/2032/2042 are both OK for satisfying the phys prerequisite). There's actually a case in Biochem where a single subject involved in a sequence is also good by itself, but god only knows what that's about!

Hey, thanks so much! At this point I'm assuming that what's listed on the prereq checker allows for the prereq to be satisfied, regardless of it being a single unit or not; i'll probably email or call the Melbourne Medical School to confirm tomorrow.
Thanks again so much for your help!
