Title: Further Maths SAC
Post by: winged dragon 151 on June 18, 2017, 10:48:02 pm
Hi everyone,

I am very nervous. I have achieved a 89% in my first Further Maths SAC. I am about to undergo my second SAC and I am very scared of potentially dropping a 45+ study score. Is 89% a OK score or is it the difference between a 40-44 or a 45? I would like to know what you got on your first further maths sacs as well. We had a lot of people in the 50% range and in my school I was in Q3 of the results.

Hey, don't stress :). Congrats on a great result... Remember that GA1 (SACs) is only worth like 33% in Further Maths. Your exams are way more important for a Further Maths study score - and it's THERE than losing a couple of marks can push you from 45  closer to 40. A couple of marks on SACs... less so :).

Just do your best, and remember to breathe :)

Yeah, that's a great start - well done!

I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure my SAC results would have been similar to that at this time of year (average school) - and I ended up with a 45. :) You'll be fine!

What happens if heaps of people fail in a class does that increase your sac score?

Not necessarily but it wouldn't be a bad thing for you if that did happen and you did well in the SAC. It most situations it would probably be a beneficial thing for your SAC score.

Hey, do you remember exactly how many marks you lost over both exams to get a 45?

Guys,  I got 58% on my second SAC/4. IS THERE A POSSIBILITY OF GETTING A 42? I GOT REALLY PISSED OFF BECAUSE I GOT NO READING TIME AND I STUDIED THE NIGHT BEFORE. WHAT DO I DO :'(

Yes! You still have a whole unit to go and the exams. The GA1 grade is made up of both your Unit 3 and Unit 4 marks. Further Maths (at least in my opinion) is heavily dependent on the exams, and that your performance on them can easily adjust your GA1 grade. I had friends who weren't performing so well in their SACs, but managed to smash out their exams and still ended up with 40+. You still got this.
