I'm kinda curious on this...
Is HDPE just a really long alkane?
AND
Is something like propane or butane a really short HDPE polymer? Could you make octane petrol with the HDPE process?
Are they any different in group classification as an alkane??

All you need to know is that HDPE is high density polyethylene, and occurs when the polymer has very little side branching. This allows it to compress to a higher degree, making it hard and versatile. It is used for things like piping. Beyond that, you really would be studying beyond the curriculum, so I don't think there's much of a need to go into that here. Be able to draw it (a couple Ethylene monomers), describe it, and cite its uses/properties
