Hi! This has been a topic that's been on my mind a lot recently. Basically my internal ranks were not as well as I expected because of my trials, I happened to be very sick during trials and that screwed up my trial marks (yay). My internal ranks dropped from top 5 to mid range. So I was wondering if I did well (hopefully) in my actual HSC exam, will there be hope for me getting a good overall mark for my subjects and ATAR, or not?

Hey! Definitely still hope that you can get a fantastic mark, smashing the HSC is way more important than anything that comes before it. This guide goes into the details, but essentially if your cohort performs well in the HSC and you do really well in the exam, it won't matter much at all ;D
PS - Did you get special consideration for being ill? You should have if you told your teachers!

Thank you so much! So would there be hope for me getting a 90+ atar? Also, I told my teachers, and didn't get special consideration : (

Rats! If you tell them after you've sat the exam, or even during, you don't have much ground to stand on. Make sure if you feel really sick on a HSC day to NOT DO THE EXAM and call your Principal to organise misadventure. Don't force your way through it!
Yep, you can definitely still get 90+ if you work really hard

Person B just!!
That's if I calculated it correctly, I think the formatting got a bit mixed up when you posted but I took the first mark as person A and second mark as person B
Person A came to an average of 75.55/100%
Person B came to an average of 75.85/100%
