I am really struggling to focus on English even though it is required for my finial overall ATAR. Does anyone know what kind of marks are needed (I averaged 70% throughout the year) to achieve a study score of 30 for the exam.
Also any tips to improve before the exams?
Thank you very much

Hi MattBro!
I'm not too sure but it sounds like you're on the right track. SACs are heavily moderated depending on how you do on the exam, if you post maybe a sample of an essay, I can give you a clearer indicator?
If you want to do it yourself, you can check out the VCAA criteria on their website and mark yourself from that :)
EDIT:
Oh and tips to improve:
Compile word and quote banks
Do practise essays and mark yourself to see where you need to improve
When you're satisfied with the above, start doing practise planning for lots of prompts instead

Your average of 70% should take you over the line to get a study score of ~30. Although it depends how well you do on the exam and potentially your cohort. I got a similar average for English and got mid 30s from memory.
As for tips for improving the exam, check out the English Resources and also submitting work to get marked & read examples from other students Here.
I would check over my previous SACS and improve on the negative feedback I got. An example could be improving your flow, being more expressive, have more quotes, improve the structure of the piece, etc. I would then write a rough plan on what to do to improve those flaws and keep going till the exam as well as doing practice English Exams.
I wish you all the best for your exams.
