Which is more competitive? Further maths, as it has much more students
Which has more students undertaking it? Further - ~30,000 students
Accounting ~5000 students

Further has about 6 times the enrolment of accounting, making it much more competitive at the high end (45+ study score)
Hope this helped :)

Good reply but I think your definition of 'competitive' is quite subjective. You could also see it as more students getting 45+ scores in further compared to very few in Accounting, thus rendering Accounting more competitive. either way, I would say they both have similar competition. Further punishes lost marks more than accounting but Accounting is harder to ensure full marks

I hope this helped!

From my understanding (and please don't take my word for this), but many students look at further as an 'easy' subject. Hence, a lot highly maths orientated people take it to 'easily' (note the quotations) get a high study score. That, in addition to the fact that further is an easy subject to lose marks in due to silly mistakes, make it competitive around the high 40's - 50. I don't know much about accounting though, as my school doesn't offer it.
