Intro
Hi everyone! If you are completing Informatics this year (2018), you would be aware that you need to create and distribute a survey as part of the SAT requirements (so you have a data set to work with).

You are able to post your links here for others to complete your survey. Please note the following conditions:

Posting Requirements
1. Your survey link must be from a reputable source (i.e. a well known survey/form service - such as SurveyMonkey or Google Forms).
2. Do not shorten your survey link (e.g. using bitly, tinyurl or other shortening service).
3. If you offer an incentive for participation (e.g. the chance to win a $50 gift card), you must outline details of this reward (how will you choose the winner?)
4. You may only post your survey link once.

Please take into consideration the ethical and legal considerations when collecting user data (e.g. privacy issues).

Any post that is made that does not comply will be removed by the Technology moderators. Please only post your survey link in this thread. Any links that are not posted in this thread will be merged anyway - so save us the trouble :)

You are permitted to reply in this thread that you have completed the survey - however any general discussion RE: the SAT or anything else must be done in the appropriate thread. This is for SAT surveys only.

I could ramble on about needing an appropriate sample size - however instead... I would really appreciate it if everyone could help out the students in Informatics this year by completing their survey when they post it. Thank you in advance :)

This is a good point. The survey should cater for as many groups as possible. The options available assumes that there is nobody under the age of 14. You have a 61+ age group which is fantastic and you can definitely do that, but the lower bracket must also be catered for in some way. I get why you're doing that as majority of your audience will be teenagers on ATAR Notes and whoever fills out the survey, but a good survey sample is one that is truly random (a mix of many groups rather than just teens).

It's also a matter of consistency - if you are doing brackets for all your other age groups, then you should be applying it to all options apart from (Under xx or Over xx). It is one of the most common errors when designing a survey, not considering a certain age group or not providing an option for them, forcing the respondent to either not submit their opinion or choose another option which will stuff your results up as it isn't accurate.

If your survey is targeting teenagers (as an example), then my suggestion for options would be as follows:

Under 13
13
14
15
16
17
18
Over 18

(see how these options cater to all ages still! I'll still get the data I want, but I've also considered those outside the target group)
