Hi everyone,
I've received my first round offer, but decided previously that i would prefer a different course.
I have tried to change my preferences on VTAC, but it comes up with HTP 5000 error or something like that.
Should I accept and enrol, or just accept my previous offer, and then change my preferences for second round offers?
What is the final cut off date for second round offers applications? I think they come out on the 20th or 23rd but I'm not sure when they close :)

Hi Meg - congratulations on getting a first round offer. With respect to that, you are eligible for a second-round offer if your second round offer's preference is HIGHER than the first-round offer. So say you got a first round offer in preference 2 on your VTAC account. Then you'd only be eligible for a second-round offer in preference 1. With this in mind, I'd suggest that you accept your previous offer and enrol in it just to be safe, and then change your preferences for second round offers to what you actually want to do.
The reason you can't change your preferences yet is because the VTAC account is currently still locked to change preferences. As per here http://www.vtac.edu.au/dates.html it actually opens at 10am today and closes on the 29th of Jan at 4pm. So you've got until then from 10am today to change your preferences.
Also if you scroll down on that link, you'll see that second round offers come out on the 2nd of Feb, to give VTAC a week to sort out preferences after the accounts close.
