Hi everyone,
I was wondering if you average very highly (95%+) but are ranked 2nd in the cohort, will ranking affect scaling that much? Am I at a disadvantage of getting a high score if I’m not rank 1? Thanks

If you are 2nd in the cohort while achieving +95%, then the person who is first in the cohort must be pretty good. Unless the person 1st in the cohort does really badly on the exam, your scaling shouldn't be too disadvantageous.

You’re not at a disadvantage getting a high score if you aren’t rank 1. It’s something to aim for, but not to stress about.

What would happen if we were rank 2 and rank 1 did badly on the exam? Would it affect our study score? :o

Wouldn’t have a major impact in an average cohort :)

I’m not sure actually! I hope not :(

Remember its not about rank 1 doing good or badly its more about if you are rank 2 (assuming you achieve your desired exam score) that at least 1 other person does well on the exam. This 2nd person would most likely be rank 1 if ranking is accurate but could very well be ranked from 3 to last.
