I’m doing German this year and really want a 40. Last year I did Chinese SLA and got 36, however that was because I speak Chinese at home. I’m wondering if anyone here got 38+ in a LOTE, how did you do it? e.g. the way you studied, resources that were particularly helpful, ways to prepare for the oral, etc.

To get 40+ in LOTE, apart from having good language skills, you also need to fully understand the marking scheme and meet the criteria. If you know something behind the door then it makes u much easier to score high.

Pay close attention to marking criteria and have superb language skills.
Really know the language well.
Scaling is very kind towards languages so even a 39 or 38 wouldn't be the end of the world.
