Title: Analyzing Visuals in Language Analysis
Post by: EthanS24 on May 07, 2018, 09:31:50 am
Hi, when analysing visuals in editorials and opinion pieces how can you tell whether the visual was included by the author himself or by the newspaper agency? Or is it assumed?
Thanks

Hey EthanS24,
When analyzing visuals, we typically assume that they are put there intentionally as a conscious decision of the author in an attempt to persuade the audience to their point of view - especially in opinion pieces. Don't be fussed as to whether they were placed there by the author or the agency, though; this isn't information that you need to do well. :)
