Hi,
I have to write an essay for my language analysis. The author of the text quote someone's opinion and then destroy it by including the testimony of someone else. I don't know how this technique is called and neither how to formulate this in a sentence in my essay. If anyone could help me, it will be great.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

It would be safe to refer to this as a 'rebuttal' or refutation, such that the author is attempting to demonstrate the flawed nature of a particular counterargument.
