Title: Doing practice exams now vs end of year

Hi,

This is probably ridiculous but anyway...

So I have Unit 3 exams coming up and I'm not sure whether or not it is a good idea to do past papers to prepare for these exams, because I want to save them for studying at the end of the year.

I was advised that if I just did the Unit 3 parts now, I could do the Unit 4 parts at the end of the year, however then I wouldn't be able to get much Unit 3 practice, is this a good option?

Or should I just do exams now and then repeat them at the end of year? Because I want to have exams that aren't done so I can really practice as the questions will be unfamiliar.

I like leaving the most recent exam (or the sample exam if there has been a study design change) until the end of the year, but I think it's important to do exam questions throughout the year.

My personal view is that you should be doing VCAA questions now so that you can learn how to address the examiners report & that it would be really unfortunate if you ended up doing less VCAA exams because you overestimated how many you could complete at the end.

This might also vary between subjects - in maths for example you are highly unlikely to remember problems that you completed months ago.
