I have all my knowledge for one of my modern dot points memorised and in my head - I understand it back to front. But then I sat down and was eating lunch and tried to go back over it mindlessly, and felt like none of it was in my head!!!!!!!!
It was only until I sat back down in front of my whiteboard and began writing it down that it all came back to me.
Is that bad? I don't know how to feel hahaha

I don't know if this is actually correct, but it sounds like you are associating your memory of your syllabus with a certain location. Kinda like when you have trigger words to remember stuff (like a certain word triggers a whole bunch of points for you) But instead of a word, you're using a LOCATION. To get around this, I'd probably try and go back over all of your modern history information in different locations to reduce the reliance on that location to remember your information. Literally, start from the beginning and relearn everything in a very different location. For example, your local library!
This is just how i interpret it
Hope this helps!
