Title: Your study space: post pictures!
Post by: not.yet.a.nerd on July 21, 2018, 04:23:35 pm
I hope this post is compliant with "kick[ing] it as a community without talking about school" and hence fit in the community lounge, but I'm curious, what does your desk/study space look like? Does anyone feel like sharing a picture of theirs, or seeing what someone else's looks like? Reply with a picture if you'd like!
p.s. I hope this kind of post is allowed  :D

I should say thanks to you because I cleaned my desk a little after procrastinating for soooo long. It's nothing fancy, but I like it. I look forward to see everyone else's study space too!

It is visible now! - Edited this because originally it wasn't

I actually have the same desk as you in our house! Don't use it specifically though

For a second I was wondering why I was seeing my own old desk.
I used to have the exact same one!

vcestressed, I would love to know what the purpose of the "Have a good day" mini blackboard is for.. is that like a self-motivation thing? If so, that's awesome!!

So organised with the timetables/highlighted stuff on the wall too!! Absolutely love it.

Here's my "everything" space... for teaching (planning for), for gaming, for whatever-ing... it looks much cleaner than usual :)

Hasn't been updated for a good few years.... I think it may be time to do a $4k spending spree on a new PC build and space (clearly justified!)  8)

Thank you! I've been trying to be more organised this year. Our teacher actually bought all of us the mini blackboards on the first day of year 12 so I try to write motivational quotes/sayings/anything on it. It's the first thing I see when I wake up so it really does help me be calm.

The brown chipboard you see behind my laptop is usually also used for important post-its to be clipped around the edges, and I usually have a notebook and laptop setup that takes a lot of the deskspace, but it a really comfortable set-up aha! :')

This is my desk! Or one portion of it haha. As you can see, on my laptop screen is atarnotes, as per usual.  :) On my floating bookshelves it says 'repetition' to remind me that repetition is key to remembering - weird thing to have as a reminder but whatever.

^What type of cube is that? I think I might have the same one!

I'm actually feeling slightly self-conscious of how messy my desk is compared to everyone else hahah... I was going to clean it before taking a photo but then I was too lazy told myself my desk looks best in its natural state lol. (Tbh it's actually already a lot tidier than usual)

Anyway here's my desk (that awkward bit of unoccupied space in the middle is where my laptop usually sits, except I used it to take the photo:
And here's the stuff I blue-tack above my desk to remind me of my impending fate (and also bible verses lol... the irony)

As you can see I may be slightly obsessed with reading Stephen King hahah (that's only a tiny percentage of all my Stephen King books)
The Panadol sitting in plain view perfectly sums up the life of a senior student, I love it!

@Lsjnzy13, I feel you on the messy desk thing, too.😐

Sorta self-conscious about this but here it is! there’s currently eraser dust everywhere haha...
(http://imgur.com/E6SwNp6.jpg) also none of those sunglasses fit me, I have no idea why they’ve been sitting there for a year. 🙃

My desk needed a big clean before I could photograph it haha, it was so messy I literally couldn’t see the top of it. It looks like this approximately 0.1% of the time.

Here’s where I actually end up studying because I can’t be bothered keeping my desk clean (the library)

Is that so you can always have AN open whilst your working?

Please, AN is always open.

It's the Facebook and YouTube that I required.

Moyu Aolong V2, I think it's one of the most popular cubes out there, and rightly so since it's awesome (pretty sure my pb was on that one).

Have the same :P
What’s your PB?

If I remember correctly (used to have it written down but lost it lol) my PB's 28 seconds. I average somewhere between 30 to 40 seconds though. What's yours?

Haven't actually been cubing recently due to the stress of VCE, my cubes has been lying around being used as paperweights :'(

Don’t do it any more either but back in the good days had average around 15-20 with a pb just above 10 seconds. Fun times :)

ah this thread is awesome. Amazing, messy, functional desks people  :D

I know this thread is a little old now but I wanted to post mine, I've only had this desk this year and really enjoy working here. I don't actually live in the dark haha, my desk light's white just threw off my phones exposure.

Only just recently set this temporary workspace up. Dual monitor on a standing desk thingy, with the school laptop off to the right. If I need to write in an exercise book or work with less distractions, I can just move down in front of the laptop to have more writing space and only one screen!

The Dell monitor has a swivel mount that allows it to be rotated to be vertical. Really helpful for Word or viewing PDFs as I can see A4  / Letter pages in their original sizes  ;D

Surprisingly I take my notes / do my work on paper as much as possible so the writing space really comes in handy  ;D

How good is a dual screen setup? Makes such a difference if you're trying to do a bunch of things at the same time.

Used to use tri-screen with my laptop display, but my current desk doesn't allow it. I just have the laptop screen off to the side so I can see something as I write  ;D
