Hi, everyone. I'm a year 11 VCE student and it's halfway through the year so we have to pick the subjects for next year.
I'm currently completing :
1) EAL 1&2
2) Methods 1&2
3) General 1&2
4) Chemistry 1&2
5) Physics 1&2
6) Computing 1&2
Too much right ?! (not doing any 3&4s because of the fact that I came to Australia last year (Y10) and everything was new to me so school chose my BEAL which helped me with my English. However I really enjoy studying for all of these subjects and I don't feel lot on pressure on me.
My average score across all of my subjects is about 80% and that's because of chemistry that's brining it down!
I like chemistry, I don't love it. It's my least favourite subject and my average score is around 60%. So for next year I'll be completing (For sure) :
1) EAL 3,4
2) Methods 3,4
3) Physics 3,4
4) Algorithmic 3,4
So yeah, I have to drop one and be completing 5 subjects because 6 is too much (How I see it and others feedbacks) and picking algorithmic really depends on the people who are going to do it (we need more than 10 participants) unless it won't run.
I feel like if I do chemistry as my fifth, I will be exhausted! too much work and no more fun at all! (EAL itself is hard enough + my personal passions)
I decided to consider choosing VCD (Visual communication design because I'm interested in design and creative work as well, instead of chemistry.
OR, The other option would be further maths which is not that hard as I read the textbook but it's not EAL friendly and maths is pretty much worded there. However I think there's also a lot of people doing it and that makes it a little bit more challenging to rise above because I need grades in year 12 not just passing and the thing about algorithmic is that it's so fun and last year only 7 people took it! less people = more time the teacher can help you! That's why I picked it as my fourth.
So what do you guys think?
-Completing VCD (haven't done it's 1&2) but having experience using design softwares
-Chemistry (doing chemistry)
-Further (doing general)
and you might ask for my plan in the future, well for me it's unlikely to become a doctor because I don't think it's my thing! I like doing new stuff and want my career to be enjoying not with treating patients.
I'd really appreciate your answer.
