Title: query
Post by: cookiebook123ftw on August 02, 2018, 04:06:00 pm
After receiving an abysmal score on my second methods sac, (75%), I'm starting to question what could be wrong with my study habits. I did the textbook questions, chapter review questions, I made sure I understood the concepts well, did past sacs from my school, and I still only got 75% on my latest sac. I got 66% on my first methods sac. My question is what am I possibly missing in my study for methods? I really want do well in this subject (get a study score of 35 raw). Could someone please help me out? I really want 90% on my last sac on probability
My first sac where I got 66% was 33/50 vcaa marks, and the second sac where I got 75% was 18.75/25 vcaa marks (not sure if it rounds up to 19 or rounds downto 18)
Thanks ;D

Easier said than done, but how do I make sure I don't miss any thing when preperating for sacs, which cost be easy marks on a sac I did in unit 1/2 (last year)?
As in, there was a checklist with all the key skills for the sac, one of them being to sketch graphs and identify key features, and I revised drawing all the basic graphs, but completely forgot about hybrid functions, and it showed up on the sac, and I was confused about open or closed circles in hybrid functions.
Thanks

Have you tried to consult with the teacher about what your common mistakes seem to be and how to rectify them? This is probably the first step I would do towards improving grades. The second thing I'd do to improve is to ensure you're correcting your own work. The third thing is probably to help others on the VCE Methods threads on AN and teaching/ helping others. This usually exposes any weaknesses and allows you to study up on them.

1. Check the study design. All of the curriculum is listed there and thus, all the possibilities that will come up on your SACs.
2. If you don't already, write a list of mistakes you make. Also, refer to theory notes. If the teacher's taught you something, unless stated otherwise (or not in the study design), it's a possible thing to test you on.
3. Teach someone.
