Title: methods study score. Is 40 raw possible? (VCE)

Hi Guys,

I was just wondering if it is possible for me to get a study score of 40 Raw in VCE Methods? For my Unit 3 SAC, I got 63% and for my Unit 4 SAC, I got 84%. My methods teacher at school says if I can get 80% in both methods exam 1 and 2, I can definitely get Raw 40. Is this true? If not, based on my Unit 3 and Unit 4 SAC scores, what is the minimum in percentage in both exams 1 and 2 I need to get to get Raw 40 in VCE Methods? And also, what would 80% in both exam 1 and exam 2 get me as well Raw wise based on my Unit 3 and Unit 4 SAC scores if it does not get me 40 raw?

a rough estimate of the minimum needed last year is
Exam 1: 34.5/40 = 86%
Exam 2: 63/80 =  79%

So weighted average is low 80's.
and that would get ~40 if your sac rank is decent. If your sac rank is lower than necessary you would need higher exam scores.

Thanks for the reply. I think for the Unit 3 SAC, i think I came like 8th out of 12th in my class but for the Unit 4 SAC, I got 4/12 in my class. What does that mean for the scores I need for both exam 1 and 2 to get Raw 40?

Methods uses combined rank for unit 3+4 so your are probably sitting around average in the cohort - It would also depend on the strength on the cohort but you'd maybe need a little higher than those scores then.

can't say for sure but it's possible if your sacs scale up a bit.
