Hi guys,
How would you recommend answering these questions?
"Define the term 'social enterprise' and give on example of a distinguishing feature of a social enterprise" 2 marks
"explain how following achange model can assist a business with implementing a change successfully" 3 marks
I wrote for the first one:
A social enterprise refers to a revnue-generating business that provides goods or services, with the primary objective of fulfilling a social need. A distinguishing feature of a social enterprise is that its primary objective is to fulfill a social need by redirecting its profit surplus to bee\nefitting the community, rather than individual shareholders.

Not sure if these responses would be helpful so feel free to correct me but here's what I wrote for the first one:
A social enterprise is a business with the main objective of fulfilling a social need through its production of goods or services. A distinguishing feature of a social enterprise is its ability to provide a benefit to a community whilst still operating similarly to a commercial business and generating a profit.
For the 3 marker:
Lewin's Three Step Change model assists businesses in implementing effective change as it identifies the need for change, urging employees to challenge current beliefs and breaks down the status quo. This unfreeze step allows for greater ease in the change process as employee resistance is reduced and communication of all changes being applied is clear. Finally, any changes made can be anchored during the refreeze stage, ensuring that the business does not revert back to its previous processes and ingraining changes within the business's culture.

Thank you for your help. I thought for the second question that it was asking about how a general change model assist a business, not specifically the three step change model.

I reckon if I had that question, I'd be using a specific change model as an example, though.

Yeah I agree. I'd talk generally on how following a change model would assist in providing a scaffold for a business to follow when implementing effective change and transitioning smoothly as it encourages a systematic process or a series of steps that would allow employees to be more accepting as they are supported by a structured process. I'd use Lewin's Three Step Change Model as an example of how following his change model would allow change to be easily implemented as well as maintaining it in the after-math (the last step, refreeze is about reinforcing the change into the business so it does not revert back to its old ways).
