Title: Significant figures in chemistry
Post by: kateo on November 11, 2018, 12:44:23 am
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if in the exam I am meant to round to the necessary amount of significant figures throughout each step in a calculation, or just for the final answer.

I am confused about question 9.e.i. on the 2015 VCAA exam since it appears they have rounded throughout causing them to round to different decimals in the final answer. By using as accurate calculations throughout I got the final answer 5.92x10^3 but on the answers it says 5.93x10^3 !

Please help!! Thanks :)
