Is it possible to study commerce at uni without having done VCE maths?
-
I think maths methods is compulsory.
-
No chance. I'm a test case for that. Got 24 in methods, needed 25.
Options are doing another course @ Melbourne, doing a maths unit and then transferring mid-year (not sure if possible) or end of year into Commerce.
Doing Commerce (or another course) at another university, doing a maths equivalent and transferring.
YOu can also do a bridging course online called UniLearn Senior Maths
-
ok thank you didn't know that
-
At ANU there's no mathematics prerequisite to gain entrance to the Commerce degree. That being said, quite a few of the mandatory subjects you take as part of a Commerce degree involve reasonably complicated mathematics, so if you're not at least competent at maths then Commerce is probably not the degree for you.

I might be in the same situation as you...
Have you decided to stay in your business degrees or are you looking to transfer?
Why or why not?
-
I'm staying. I like my degree. :)
Once you're in Uni you hardly care...
-
Yeah, I've got a job lined up already so im thinking which uni I goto shouldn't really affect my career in the future...
-
Yeah, the degree you have probably doesn't have a huge impact on your future career too. In fact, I personally find it far more impressive hearing about graduates from other non-prestiguous universities who have done a lot of other things.
It's far more important to have priorities outside of university, in other words. You can mould your own career/personal path.

That is stupid! You got a great ENTER, and dropped your methods score by 1. You should have done normal methods, I'm pretty sure that's slightly easier since there is no matrix theory.
But anyone who remotely wants to do a commerce degree HAS to do methods. There should be some uni's that offer commerce without methods as a prerequisite.

BBus at Caufield (Monash), like Costa.
