Hi guys,
I was wondering if it's possible to do masters at Unimelb after doing an undergrad at another university in Victoria?
If so, are there certain averages that need to be maintained/points in uni subjects?
V clueless about this stuff 😅
Thank you!

Yeah of course you can :) Not sure they really preference UniMelbstudents for most masters degrees either

Totally from a education/teaching point of view here - for their MTeach (Melbourne Grad School of Ed), they actually do preference their own students in a way... essentially giving them first access to CSP places and then distributing whatever is left (if any) to outside candidates. Others, no idea.. but there is definitely evidence of preferential treatment for their ed grad school.
I think if you're applying for a CSP place to a masters degree (even that in itself is tough to find, but they're out there) - the places are limited so you may have a bit of difficulty if you aren't an "internal" applicant... full-fee should be no problem.
From a general perspective, it is definitely possible to enter a masters directly from outside. It'll be pretty competitive, but it's definitely achievable.

Hi (:
So I was looking at UoM's Master of Audiology and came across this:
"As the courses are structured differently, we do not allow transfers from another university. You are welcome to apply using your current transcripts but you will be required to start the course from the beginning if you are offered a place."
What does transcripts refer to? Also, does this mean that transfers mid course are not allowed but you can transfer if you're just starting the course? As in finishing bachelors and moving to masters?

I would assume this relates to Master ---> Master transfer, rather than a Bachelor degree to Master entry.
Essentially this means that if you study a Master of Audiology somewhere else (or equivalent), they won't give you credit for anything already started at your previous university due to the diverse structure of each course at each institution. So say you did 6 months in a Master of Audiology somewhere else, you'd have to start again at the new university.
You would be OK to apply after you have finished the Bachelor degree.
Transcripts are formal records of your studies - they have every unit you've studied along with the grade/result, when it was completed and other details (e.g. majors, minors, special conditions that have been granted etc, along with your GPA/WAM)

Agree with this. You’re not actually transferring to another uni if you complete a bachelor’s and then start a Master’s somewhere else.
Most health sciences courses don’t allow transfers between courses during the course because their approaches are all so different, and you could miss out.
