Hi,
Had this question, if anyone can answer that would be great.
1. The semi-structural (condensed) formula for 4-methyl octane and 2,3-dimethyl pentane?
Thanks

For both of those questions you can follow this process:
1. Start with CH3
2. Count how many CH2s until something else happens and write the CH2s in
3. Write in the thing you encountered (in this case a methyl group)
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you hit the end of the molecule
You should get CH3(CH2)3CH3(CH2)3CH3 for the first one :)
