Title: Quick Question.

When Categorical data is represented by numbers.

Example:

Size of Car represented by (1=small 2 = large and 3=very large)

Cost of car represented by (1=cheap 2=fair 3=expensive)

When classifying these, do we interpret them as categorical or numerical as they are represented in numbers?


Also what does it mean when box plots are variable?

I know these questions sound stupid but i have been meaning to get them off my chest as they are quite a rare question on past exam papers..

Interpret as Categorical I believe...on a dot plot or similar I am thinking...

Box plots are variable as they depend on outliers, etc.... They may also be vaiable as you can have multiple box plots on the same axis thing (ie parallel box plot)
