Title: Medicine with Monash Guarantee
Post by: jinaede1342 on December 09, 2019, 02:24:51 pm
Just got an email saying I'm eligible for the Monash Guarantee which I'm really happy about  :D. The ATAR cut-offs for most Monash courses with the guarantee are pretty straightforward, but for medicine it says RC (Range of Criteria), this is because there is an interview and UCAT process. Does anyone know what kind of bearing having this guarantee will have on my chances at a place/interview at med. What minimum ATAR would I need? UCAT is 83%ile which might be a bit low for a place from what I've been reading. Any experience would be appreciated.

Hey man,
With monash guarantee you will be definitely offered an interview with 95+ atar and a 80+ percentile UCAT. Note that this is with the monash guarantee and NOT SEAS. I know this isn't explicit on their website but my uncle actually works in the medicine admission department at monash and he told me this is the case. It makes sense as in 2018, with the UMAT in place, a 94+ atar and 175 (approximately a 80th percentile) guaranteed a spot for a interview.
