Hey people,
I am forevers stuck on the ingredients of a A+ conclusion for a modern history essay..
any and all help would be lovely.
Hey there,
I usually structure my conclusion the same way I structured my introduction, i.e. the first sentence was my assessment/response to the question, and then each sentence was a summary of the points I would be discussing in my essay.
Here's a sample conclusion I wrote for the 2017 Conflict in Europe question:
Spoiler
In conclusion, it is clear that the Russian campaign was crucial for contributing to Allied victory as it placed Russia in the offensive position for the remainder of the war. The failure of Operation Barbarossa was harmful to the state of the Wehrmacht as it ended Germany’s set victories, as well as slowing down their progress into Russia, greatly contributing to Allied victory. Furthermore, German defeat at the Battle of Stalingrad became beneficial to the Allies as it prevented Germany from accessing Russia’s raw resources and inflicted severe losses on the Luftwaffe and Wehrmacht. Moreover, the Battle of Kursk was a turning point in WW2 as the large losses the Germans experienced resulted in Germany being placed in a defensive position. Thus, with the Germans failing to achieve their objectives in the Russian campaign, their defeats determined the outcome of WW2, reflecting the great significance the Russian campaign has to Allied victory.
Hope this helps!
