Hey People,
Supposed they asked for an essay on the 'nazi consolidation of power (1933-1943)' in the HSC, how would I address this?
Broad question i know however I'm not sure what perspective i would take; reasons for, events, thematically?????

I think that it really depends on personal preference. Logically you could address things chronologically (looking at the events and reasons) or thematically (looking at the events and reasons). If you can't decide which you think you'd prefer, why not make a rough plan for each where you decide what you would write about in each paragraph (for each essay). Then you should be able to tell which one you'd want to write and which one you have the most ideas for!

Hey there,
When I got questions on Nazi consolidation of power, I usually just talk about the important events that helped the Nazis but like laura_ said, it depends on how you wanna approach the question.
A few points you could cover in this question include:
- Gleichschaltung/process of Nazification
- Use of propaganda/censorship
- Night of the Long Knives
- Establishing SA/SS

I created an exam question 'heat map'/grid here for Power & Authority using past papers from the old syllabus. The topic "changes in society" should also cover Nazi consolidation of power.
