Title: When did your class finish the 3/4 Chem course?
Post by: Snow Leopard on December 05, 2020, 05:49:05 pm
Hi,

My teacher said that in a normal year (not affected by COVID) we should finish all of the content by the start of Term 3, only having to do the AoS 3 SAC (Investigation) and then being able to do revision/past exams. (this seems a bit early to me so I just want to see what your school's are doing especially since my school hasn't seen a scaled 40+ in chem for like 3-4 years)

When have your teachers said that you'll finish the 3/4 course?

Thanks

When I did Chem this year, we finished the course right at the end of term 3. This gave us plenty of time for exam revision, but I guess our exams were delayed. If our exams weren’t delayed, I think finishing about 3 weeks before the end of term would’ve been sufficient.

I guess finishing the course depends on how thoroughly you’ve learnt the content. If it’s rushed and finished at the start of term 3, it may not be as effective as learning everything thoroughly until around mid term 3.

Hope this helps a bit!
