Is UoM the only university that offers this?
What ENTER do I need,
What course should I be aiming for and
What are the pathways into it?
-
Biomedicine, enter around 98.00 to be safe seeing as this years cut off for it was 97.90.
La Trobe Bendigo also offers dentistry but it is even more harder than the one in Uni of Melb it requires 99+ ENTER.
-
Yeah Bendigo is way too far for me ):
Is biomedicine the only way in?
Can I get in through Science?

You can get through via Science. You just need to select the right subjects, whereas in Biomed, the subjects are "pre-selected" for you so you don't have to worry about not missing any pre-reqs.

Hmm, so how long is the total duration of biomed+dentistry? 3+5 years??

If you're just talking about the Melbourne DDS, it's 4 years not 5.
-
Oh right. So previously the course with 5 years outright?

Yeah the discontinued BDSc was 5 years.

Just out of curiosity why does La Trobe require a higher ENTER? Is it because it takes people with lower UMATs?

ENTER requirement is generally based on popularity, so Latrobe must be a very popular place for dentistry, likely because it requires the lower UMAT.

I think it doesn't even need UMAT
-
Yeah no UMAT. I think non year 12 entry needs UMAT though. Plus it's also because the Melbourne one doesn't exist anymore. (Melbourne Undergraduate dent required high UMAT and 99+ ENTER once upon a time)
