My teacher gave me this booklet of questions to do and I couldnt do these four:
Write chemical equations for the following equations:
Q1
a) Carbon Dioxide (an acidic Oxide) reacting with lithium hydroxide
b) Zinc Carbonate being decomposed by heating
c) Ethyne, C2H2, being burnt during some oxyacetylene welding
Q2.
If dicromate ions, Cr2o72-,are mixed with iodine ions, I-, iodine, I2, and chromium (III) ions are produce. Write the overall ionic equation for this reation
-
1.a) 2LiOH + CO2 ---> Li2CO3 + H2O
b) ZnCO3 ---> ZnO + CO2
c) 2C2H2 + 5O2 ---> 4CO2 + 2H2O
2. 6I- + Cr2O72- + 14H+ ---> 3I2 + 2Cr3+ + 7H2O
