Title: Compound Ratios

a)sodium chloride that contains 5g of sodium

and

b)sodium that will be combined with 2.75g of chlorine

Considering the ratio 39.3% sodium and 60.7% make up sodium chloride.

$m(NaCl):m(Na)$ = $m(NaCl):5$ = $100:39.3$

Then $m(NaCl)=12.7g$

(b) $m(Na):m(Cl)$ = $m(Na):2.75$ = $39.3:60.7$

Then $m(Na)=1.78g$
