Title: Best Textbook for Questions?
Post by: vexx on March 22, 2010, 09:20:41 pm
Hi,

I've already got the heinemann textbook, what is another good textbook (if there are a few) that has a good variety of questions like heinemenn does? i'm wanting to do quite a few questions from Area of Study 2 in the holidays from a different textbook without using any prac exams:)

Thanks

Vexx

I would think heinemann is the best. The chapter review has a few challenging questions. It is also suggested that you purchase the NEAP chemistry book as it has numerous questions that are actually HARDER than VCAA questions. I havnt book the book myself personally but I am going to.

We're using heinemann as well. NEAP is good aswell.
I've heard the Study On Jacaranda book is quite good. I don't know personally, i haven't tried the book yet, but i think its worth a try.

The Dimensions text has really good questions in it. It's written by the same person who writes the Neap guides.

You will be better off doing questions from supplementary books than other textbook problems

omg yes.  soo many mistakes!  really frustrating.

there is a copy of the jacaranda book available here on VN, so you don't have to buy it.  it explains some things better than heinemann, especially spectroscopy...

also  looks to have some useful questions.

I also have the NEAP practice exams...

Studyon for Chemistry is really good. We use it. I dunno about the difficulty of questions but the concepts are explained quite well.
I would suggest neap as well as studyon for extra questions.

Does anyone have the eBooks for Heinemann Chemistry Unit 1/2 or 3/4?
I want to see what the questions are like :)
