Title: Sketching Vout when cap smoothing?
Post by: schnappy on May 12, 2010, 05:44:30 pm
Hey guys,
I'm buggered. I just don't get it - I think I'm missing something. I'm given an input voltage sinusoid, shown a circuit where I've got an R and C in parallel - and it's a half-wave rectifier. I need to draw the output voltage given a capacitance (10 and 100 microfarad) and the resistance. I found the ripple voltage using; Vripple = (Vmax*T)/(RC), but it doesn't work out in my head given the time constant and the discharge time... I'll keep at it but a quick 1 2 3 would be nice :)

Thanks
