Title: AOS 3 States of consciousness

Hi Guys,
I just have a quick question for you;
Is "Research Designs used to minimise the effects of extraneous variables in experiments" (eg Repeated measures design) part of the are of study or not?
Also do I need to know any ethical principles related to the Area of Study? If so what are they?

Yes there are ethical principles that you should know and be able to explain why they're important. Correct me if i'm wrong but I believe they are: Confidentiality, Voluntary Participation, Informed Consent, Withdrawal Rights, Deception in research, Debriefing

And i've been doing a few practice exams and I have always come across questions asking about which research design is being used in a specific situation or you have to explain an advantage of the research design so i'd say you do have to know them

My teacher also said you needed to know the ethical principles: justice, beneficience, integrity and respect for persons- I'll listen to her because she was a past examiner :P

If I recall correctly those ethical principles are included in brain research. though i'm not sure if they'd be included along with the others in all psychological research...
