Post by: Martoman on June 05, 2010, 04:43:49 pm
LOL

So dad spilled wine on the carpet today..... to which i scream CHUCK SALT ON IT!

Wow. Vce chem in action. And it worked :)

Lol. Isn't that part of a question from queensland's exam last year?

Martoman, what does the salt actually do to the wine?

I was thinking.... oh it had been open to the air (as the bottle was open before for a while) so it would have oxidized to some extent so that means that there will be acids... so that means I can chuck some salt (which was incidentally NaCl) so then it may neutralize it somewhat.

and since the wine will be a weaker acid there will be a broad endpoint so you should be back salting on it.

(I suck as jokes sorry) it was a back titration reference. ::)

;) dad goes why are you adding water to it?

"DAD! It has to be aqueous so it ionises haven't you done VCAA 09? solid + solid = lesbian sex, it doesn't work!"

HAHA what a wrong analogy! :P (solid ain't female, is it? o.o)

Anyway, back to the point, does your carpet stinks now?
PS: Be careful with electrical conductivity in aq ionic compounds xD

well two guys does work. Its like an aqueous and a liquid ( >.< bad bad bad disgusting analogy sorry for this image in peoples heads)

If they could isolate enough francium, i'd pay top dollar for that. In fact, i may dedicate the latter part of my life in being able to find it  ::)

lol. determine the number of mole of unobtainium in the sample.

Multi choice:

A) 7

B) 22

C) equivalent to avacado constant

D) Unobtainable from the data.

E) lesbian sex

I'll never live this down  :P

Oh and the assessors report:

A: 5%                                            It seems a lot of kids found it quite humourous to select option D.
B: 10%                                          We reiterate, this is not meant to be a joke, this is a proper exam.
C: 90%                                          In future, take heed.
D: 9001%.

I am so tempted to write this as an explanation for a volumetric analysis error question:

"Stupid people should not be left in charge of filling burettes, pipettes and conical flasks.  This would ensure a correct result."
