could somebody explain the semantic activation theory?
-
I thought the retrieval cues trigger a node which in turn ignite a crescendo of activation of nodes that are meaningfully linked to original node.

More seriously though, I couldn't really contribute more than what jinny has. One, because I'm shit with definitions, and two it's a pretty ok definition.
You might want to add that fact that the nodes are connected to each other by the meaningfulness between them, and maybe what the node represents (words/concepts). Otherwise it's fine.

By any chance that definition of yours came from the Podcrammers podcast for Psychology? I was listening to that yesterday as I laid in bed.. sad as it is.
