Title: Explain... "with reference to".... HELP.
Post by: Chromeo33 on November 02, 2010, 07:17:53 pm

When the question asks "with reference to", do they want us to just mention that thing they want us to "reference" in the answer?
Or do we have to sort of relate that "referenced item" back to our answer?

E.g. Explain how Obama decides whether he will go to the movies tonight or not, with reference to working memory.
Do we just give a statement on working memory within the answer?
Or do we relate that statement TO our answer in some way?

Any help would be much appreciated..

You would use working memory as a basis for your discussion of "Obama" and his situation. So you just need to refer to whatever it asks you to reference and apply this to the case study and you'll be sweet :D

I do both cus that's how I was taught. I define the term and then explain it in terms of the example they want. So define what working memory is and then explain how Obama used working memory to decide whether he will go to the movies.

I'm really surprised by how much information my Psych teacher leaves out in terms of what's important and what actually needs to be done in the exam...

Ask your teacher what year he/she graduated from her Bachelor of Education. If he/she hesitates, rain down the mighty wrath of the Department of Education down on him/her!
