Hey guys... I have got absolutely no idea what reforms and suggested reforms I'm gonna do. What are you guys doing?
thanks.

I think I'll do Jury reforms, and perhaps reforms to ADR before trial is mandatory. Pick two really nice ones and then be able to go into detail.
-
I like discussing directions hearings as it has both ads and disads
(are direction hearings a recent reform)
-
Jury reforms are easy. I'd be thinking a reform question would perhaps be one of the 10 mark ones at the end, hence you may not have to do it.
But yeah, jury reforms, and reforms to the adversary system to be more like the inquisitorial system are easy ones to remember I think.

no they are not! no! I am 99% sure I read in a VCAA examiner's report that it will not be accepted as they have been around for ages
I like the reform to the Magistrates Court where its civil jursidiction was increased from $40,000 to $100,000. Great example for increasing access to the court system. I also like mentioning contingency fees

That's one of the one's I've chosen, I also learnt educating the judicary and Case List Managment System.
We need to know jury reforms too? Apart from majority verdicts there are none are there?
-
i've read that there have been recommendations that the jury pool be expanded so that lawyers and MP's are not exempt from jury service
also reducing the number of peremptory challenges
-
Today (November 9th) rob hulls proposed high profile court cases should be broadcast online. I already have my reforms sorted out... but If, for example, I were to have a mental blank, would this be too recent to talk about in the exam?
-
Reforms are like having a judge only, specialist jury foreperson, professional jurors, removal of the jury.
Then we have changes and recent changes. Reforms are the more drastic changes which break the mould.
-
I do Juries, however saying that it won't be allowed does bring flashbacks.
Legal aid, but my brother today told me is too outdated, So I will read my reforms booklet tonight.
