Title: Cl2 Concentration for Electrolysis
Post by: tcg93 on November 06, 2010, 01:36:58 pm
Ok so I have a 1.0 M FeCl3 used for electrolysis

So this means [Cl-] = 3 x [FeCl3] = 3.0 M , yes?

so in this case would I use the Cl or H2O oxidation equation for my electrolysis at the anode? (it asks for one only)

hmmm not entirely sure, what you've said tastes right though about the Cl.

Becuase its that concentrated, i'd go with the Cl equation.
