could someone just make a list of Operatioans manager stratergies and human resource stratergies please...

OM strategies are obviously your facilities layout and design, materials management, technology and management of quality. You should learn the smaller ones off these headings - such as fixed position, just in time, CAD, TQM, etc.
HR strategies are just generally retraining, performance appraisal, implementing a reward and recognition system, fringe benefits, etc.
-
OM -
Quality management: Quality control, Quality assurance, TQM (basic three)
Facilities management: Process/Product/Fixed position
Materials management: Master production schedule, Materials requirement plan, Just in Time, Supply chain management
Use of technology: Robotics, CAE, CAD, CAM
HR -
Motivational theories: Maslow's, Herzberg's, Locke's
Performance management: Performance appraisal (and the 3 outcomes being termination, training, promotion)
Training and development
Induction
Recognition/Feedback and reward

ok sweet..thanks...you guys reckon well need to know the problem solving process and policy development??

Not 100% sure but it is a very small part of BM, it will never be anything bigger then a 3 mark question. Just learn the jist of it (most steps follow the same formula anyway)

lol ok thanks...just going back and fourth

Haha did you see the suggested solutions? If we wrote that now it would probably get us a max of 3 marks (seriously isn't hard to remember 5 steps) :P.

Follows the same concept of Planning process (Define, Analyse, Establish solutions, Implement, Evaluate)

AHHHH. Seems I don't know the planning process either. This is what I get for coming in late into Unit 3. Still glad I dropped Spesh.
Well, thanks for showing me stuff that I don't know. (:

IRCDRIE . Policy development.
Identify the need for a policy
Research Business Environments
Consult Stakeholders
Develop a draft policy
Review the draft policy through seeking feedback from employees
Implement the Policy
Evaluate the policy
There are multiple steps for everything. Just improvise and sound smart i guess for BM in general ( if you dont know your stuff)

Problem solving is DODDSE!!
Define objective
Outline facts
Decide on the cause of the problem
Develop strategies
select and implement an alternative
evaluate
-
Yeah, I'm really gonna remember that by tomorrow, guys. ::)
Haha. I've got the gist, though. That'll be enough.
