mm im just wondering how many subjects we take each year?

8 subjects a year, 4 per semester

If you're a full-time student. If you're part-time, then 4 subjects a year, 2 per semester.
They are the usual loads that most people take. Also, each subject usually contributes to 12.5 credit points, just in case if you've read it somewhere and don't know what it means.

Does BSci. have any double subjects (even as an elective or something)? In Biomed we have 1 double subject each semester from second year onwards as part of our core...6 lectures a week...yay...

What do you mean by "double subjects"? As in Chem 1 in first semester and Chem 2 in second semester?

Yeah, in BioMed they combine two subjects into one in second year, and they are worth 25 credit points.
Provided that the assessment is not double the work (i.e. two sets of exams) then this is probably beneficial. These subjects will contribute more to your GPA, so if you do well, it is better, whilst if you do poorly, then it is a negative.

What do you mean by "double subjects"? As in Chem 1 in first semester and Chem 2 in second semester?
Capstone subject - 25 points? (eg. 300-314 Contigencies)

Ah - we have a subject next year which is 25 credit points instead of 12.5 - so we actually end up doing 3 subjects (12.5 + 12.5 + 25), but one is a "double subject" because it counts for twice as much credit but has twice as much work (the 6 lectures each week). And unfortunately, we do have two exams, apparently...and we need to know everything for both!

Then in that case, I don't think they exist in the B.Sci (at least not in the subjects that I plan to do).

3rd year doesn't have 25 credit point subjects and in the second semester one (anatomy/physiology) you don't need to know everything for both exams.
