I thought it would a be a bit too early.  It's only been a week since most exams were completed so I was under the impressi that it would be available from Week 2 in semester 1 at the earliest.

I just checked and nothing.

I LOVED IT !!!, But in saying that, I did take it over the summer and it did go by faster. So i found it easy to integrate concepts just because it was the only subject i was concentrating on. Principles of Marketing in Summer is definitely easier than doing it in the semesters because there are less assignments. However that one assignment that u have to do (3000 words) will be weighted more. Also, it was a group assignment, so if you're not into that then yeah not the most stress-free assessment I'd say; but i was working with 2 of my friends so that was alright :D I thought the exam was okay but I'll get back to you on how well i did LOOOL

I also enjoyed it because of its relevance to the work place environment, and there are some 2nd year marketing subjects that i wish to pursue maybe this year or next year... so it should be good :)

Haha, I should have been.  Have to ask the Faculty of Economics & Commerce what happened in late 2009/early 2010 before Round 1 offers.

By the way, I should retract my comment in the first post of this thread.  I was absolutely wrong.  Please disregard.

I'm doing it this semester as well and it looks okay.  Lectures 1-4 is just basic revision of Finance 1 so the first two weeks should be pretty cruisy.

The rest looks to me an extension of Finance 1, like CAPM, futures, swaps, managing risks.  A few things I haven't heard of but that's just the nature of the subject.

Business Finance is easy, however because it is such the scaling is really harsh.

Similar to VCE scaling, cohorts are fitted to a 'bell curve' and marks scaled up or down to fit. Since Business Finance is 'easy', the assessments are generally easy, and generally most people try because they all want to be IB'ers (lol), the subject is scaled down a lot (basically the average score/50 for assessments before the exam was in the HD range).

I'm starting to wonder now, what does the "FD" stand for at the end of the subject name?

lecturer's rarely scale down i think. i've only heard of one engineering lecturer who has had to fail a student to achieve his bell curve. it's really up to the lecturer's to set a suitable exam+assessments which will naturally achieve a good spread of results. students can ask to view their exam, calculate the marks they got and enquire why they got a lower score than they expected-situations which lecturers like to avoid. also, commerce lecturers are pretty soft compared to other faculties.
