Title: Tips for SAC study?
Post by: leona0123 on March 25, 2011, 09:25:52 pm
Please share your effective or not so effective study methods for Psychology!
I have been typing up summaries after class as ongoing revision but I was wondering what the best ways to study for an upcoming SAC might be (other than doing the End of Chapter questions from the textbook)?
I'd really like to make some posters or something more interactive than just typing notes and doing questions, but I'm not really sure where to start.
My next SAC is on the CNS and PNS, by the way.
Thank you!

You're both the same school? Full short-answer SAC on C4 and 5?

Ironically mine is also on a Tuesday albeit 5th April.

Ours is a poster accompanied by SA questions.

Tips for studying lol...? I don't understand the OP - Psych is interesting within itself and you shouldn't be getting bored.
And if you're not getting bored than the method you're using to study is effective.

Anyways draw the brain, label it, colour it, make it as interactive as you like (...if you get bored.)

I'll be doing 02-010 B & NS SA's as preparation.

thats good, my teacher gave me headings for notes under those chapters.
so ima make ridiculous notes for them, then type them up

and then make a list of questionss...

that should work alright.

Ours is like a visual thing where we have to cut out pictures and labels and stick them here and there, presumably onto diagrams of the brain and the body. And some SA questions as well. I have no trouble remembering the information regarding the structures of the brain and what each part does, but I need an effective way of remembering the association areas and some of the more complex stuff within the PNS, like the workings of the spinal cord and neurons etc.  Here is the list of things we need to know:
- Functions of the CNS and PNS
- Structure of the CNS and PNS
- Hemispheric specialisation
- RAS and thalamus
- The difference between primary and association areas
- What happens when someone experiences damage to Broca's and Wernicke's Areas
